For over 50 years, HIP Housing has been a cornerstone in San Mateo County, empowering individuals and families to lead independent, self-sufficient lives through innovative housing solutions. Their mission centers on investing in human potential by improving housing and living conditions for community members, particularly those facing income or circumstantial challenges.
HIP Housing's impact is evident through its innovative programs:
Home Sharing Program: This initiative matches individuals seeking housing with those who have space to share, optimizing existing housing stock to create affordable living arrangements.
Self-Sufficiency Program: Aimed at families and individuals striving for independence, this program offers mentoring and support services to help break the cycle of poverty and achieve long-term stability.
Property Development: HIP Housing owns and manages several properties, providing affordable housing options to nearly 400 individuals. Their portfolio includes ten apartment complexes and three shared houses, ensuring safe and low-cost homes for those in need.
